Teaching Screenwriting

Do you teach a screenwriting course?  If so, I'd like to ask two questions,
if I may:

1. Would you share a syllabus, or share some insight into how you structure
the daily life of your class?

and

2.  If your screenwriting course is part of an English curriculum, how does
it fit into the overall goals of your program?

Obviously, I'm working on a proposed change to our curriculum, to add
screenwriting.  But I've never taken a screenwriting course.  So your
insights would be of enormous help to me!  I want an airtight, nigh-perfect
proposal.  I want to succeed!
