From: Joanne Ng <[email protected]> My name is Chu Yuan Ng and I have just recently graduated from University at Buffalo, SUNY with a BA in Communications. I am interested in helping out any research work in the fields of: 1) Media Effects of Gender or Racial Stereotypes 2) Studies in South East Asia films 3)Cultural Communications 4) International Communications. I have prior experience working with a professor from the UB Communications Department for the content analysis of Sexual Communications and had done a few research paper for media effect of films as an undergraduate. Thus, I would like to seek for more opportunities in learning about the other aspects of research work before I enter a graduate school. As I am currently based in Singapore, I hope to find a mentor who is willing to communicate his/her expectations over emails or Skype as I am not able to meet my mentor in person. Interested mentors-to-be, please email me at [email protected]. ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 12 Aug 2012 06:35:33 -0700 Subject: Re: Request to post message From: [email protected] To: [email protected] Dear Joanne, I apologize for being slow to respond; my last couple of days have been very busy and I have had limited time at the computer. I can post your message to H-Film, but honestly I think it might work better if you thought it through more. Your experience thus far never mentions film, and I wonder whether anything you have done actually deals directly with film. Since our list is a film list, your request in its current form is a bit to the side of what we deal in. In the meantime, though, I am going to share your inquiry with a colleague of mine here at Willamette on the off chance that she may know someone who could use a long-distance research assistant with your background. I will let you know if she knows of anyone. k On Wed, Aug 8, 2012 at 6:57 PM, Joanne Ng <[email protected]> wrote: Dear Editors, I am a recent graduate seeking for research opportunities without any strings attached as I am just hoping to gain more research experience.
