Query: aesthetics of slow motion

I am very interested in tracking down any theoretical/critical work on the
aesthetics and effects of slow motion. Have not had much success.

For context, I am writing a major essay on the video art of Shaun Gladwell
from the perspective of cinema studies. Shaun uses slo mo a great deal and
I am trying to differentiate and articulate his very specific use of the
effect.
