From: Johannes Schlegel <[email protected]> Dear H-film, currently, I am teaching a course on key concepts in cultural studies to a class of German and Chinese M.A.-Students. In our next units, we will discuss Said's notion of Orientalism as well as Homi Bhabha's essay "On Mimicry and Man". While my students have a rather advanced understanding of theoretical texts, they keep asking for illustrative, concrete examples, which they would like to discuss in class. Can anyone on this list point out some pertinent, preferably (but not necessarily) contemporary TV series or similar dealing with said concepts? Length should not exceed 45-50 minutes, so it can be shown in class. Thanks a mill in advance! Best Johannes Schlegel
