Savile Row in Hollywood

I should be very grateful for the advice of the experts on H-Film, on where
I might find information on the role of Savile Row - the street full of
bespoke tailors in London's West End - in creating costumes for films from
1920.

I have found many references in the surviving companies' records on film
actors as private customers, from Douglas Fairbanks and Fred Astaire
onwards, including women - Katharine Hepburn and Marlene Dietrich are
especially significant, but cannot locate a source that might indicate
which films feature suits etc. by firms such as Henry Poole and Huntsman,
and biographies don't tend to dwell on who made the well-fitting dinner
jacket a star wore in a particular film.

Would Hollywood stars have worn their own clothes in productions?

My apologies for what is a naïve question - I'm more at home with food
history.
