College faculty and administrators are invited to register for the
thirteenth annual *Reacting to the Past* Institute hosted by Barnard
College (NY), June 6-9, 2013.

*Reacting to the Past* consists of elaborate games, set in the past, in
which students are assigned roles with 'victory objectives' informed by
seminal texts in the history of ideas. RTTP was honored with the 2004
Theodore Hesburgh Award (funded by TIAA-CREF) as the nation’s outstanding
pedagogical innovation in undergraduate teaching and learning. It has been
featured in the *Chronicle of Higher Education*, *New York Times*, and
elsewhere.

Participants will learn about this innovative pedagogical approach by
engaging in intensive two-day game workshops. Offerings include:

- Making a Motion Production Picture Code, 1930

The institute program also includes a series of concurrent sessions where
faculty participants engage in discussions about active-learning pedagogy,
course development, and liberal arts education more generally. For further
information, visit https://reacting.barnard.edu/2013-institute or email
[email protected]. The priority registration deadline is April 30, 2013.
