...and another one; in fact, an example of an entire opening scene (not
just one shot) that offers a perceptual challenge - or more accurately,
tries to perpetrate a perceptual deception - to the viewer.  In the
opening of 'Safety Last' (1923, Fred C. Newmeyer & Sam Taylor), we are
supposed to believe that Harold Lloyd is in a condemned cell and about
to be taken to his execution, whereas in fact he's in a railway station
waiting room and about to board a train.
