tips for teaching?

Hello, list,

I'm new to teaching intro to film. While my classes are going fairly well, I know there are ways to improve them.

I was wondering if any kind souls on the list would be willing to share a) how you run a typical class period (e.g., lecture, discussion, activities, show clips or not?) and b) any particularly successful activities you have used for teaching the basic terminology.
