Thanks for the explanation, this - admittedly very geeky - thread is deligh=
tful.
It seems to me there is just one problem with your solution to the Blimp co=
nundrum: The war ended at 11 AM =84Paris local time=93, and Paris sure was =
neither under German occupation nor had ever been imposed the German time z=
one (contrarily to WW II when the Germans introduced CET to the whole of Fr=
ance, and the French stuck to it after the war).
It seems that up to the German occupation during WW II, France like England=
 used WET (i.e. GMT, with summer time adjustment in both countries starting=
 in 1916). Therefore the war would have ended at 11 AM both in London and P=
aris; even if our hero was in Flanders at the end of the war and hadn=92t y=
et adjusted his watch, it would have been 12 AM there (or 11 AM if he had s=
tuck to GMT for whatever reason), but not 10 AM.
Any explanations?
