Query: Film Museums

Dear All,

I'd appreciate your help in researching for my potential post-doc =
project:
I am looking for literature on the history/theory/socio-cultural =
position
of film museums in the US, those with (permanent) exhibitions and
screenings rather than archives only. So far I have mostly found =
material
on single museums, particularly MoMA, and
conferences<http://www.crassh.cam.ac.uk/events/1407/>
/ongoing =
projects<http://www.shu.ac.uk/research/c3ri/projects/museums-of-cinema>,
but no book-length study about this cultural/scholarly place more
generally. I'd be interested in your recommendations concerning texts =
with
a museum studies as well as cultural/film studies approaches to this
phenomenon.
