The Interdisciplinary MA in Popular Culture draws on theoretical perspectiv= es, approaches, and methods from various disciplines in the Social Sciences= and Humanities, as well as the established interdisciplinary field of Cult= ural Studies. The study of Popular Culture ranges from traditional textual = analysis to ethnographic observation and participant interviews, and the th= emes and topics addressed in the program emphasize both historical and cont= emporary perspectives. The program espouses no single methodological or the= oretical perspective. Given its interdisciplinary character, the program welcomes students from a= variety of academic backgrounds, including (but not limited to) Communicat= ion or Media Studies, English Literature, Film Studies, History, Music, Pol= itical Science, Sociology, Canadian Studies, and Women's Studies.
