Rantoul Theatre Group plans open auditions


Rantoul Theatre Group will hold four open auditions for its September
production of William Shakespeare's love-tragedy play, "Romeo
and Juliet."

The auditions are scheduled for May 23 and 24 from 7 – 9 p.m. and
May 25 and 26 from noon to 5 p.m. at the Grissom Hall Theatre, 914
Arends Blvd. Rantoul.

Director Larry Smith is seeking female actors from age 14+ and male
actors from ages 16+ for the production.  Additionally, adult
male/female actors will be needed for the appropriate adult roles in the
play.

The play will be performed September 13, 14, 15, 20, 21, and 22, 2013. 
No preparations are necessary.  Readings will be from the script.

"Romeo and Juliet" is well-known around the world and to appear
in this play is a plus for any actor's stage resume.  Romeo and
Juliet are two star-struck lovers from feuding families who fall in love
and meet their doom in the end.  "Romeo and Juliet" is one of
Shakespeare's most popular plays and is loved the world over.

Additionally, technical support staff is needed for light and sound
technicians.

Rantoul Theatre Group has 190 seats and is located at 914 Arends Blvd.,
on the former Chanute Air Force Base in Grissom Hall. Interested actors
