For > many years, Walter was an active member of the CCHCC Health Care Access > Task Force -- he was a very enthusiastic champion for the cause of health > care for all in our local community. > > Walter loved a good protest, but was also energetic when participating in > meetings and various CCHCC events. At our Annual Dinner this past April, > you could hear Walter from the back of the room, cheering "Hear, hear!" > when a speaker said something that Walter really liked. > > Walter had such tremendous energy and presence, and such joie de vivre. He > was a good man, with many talents and skills and a keen intelligence, and > interest and curiosity. > > His enthusiastic support and participation in CCHCC's work was always > uplifting. > > We will miss Walter very much, and we will continue to do the work that > made him proud to be part of our organization. > > Our condolences go to his wife, and our dear friend, Cope Cumpston, and > Walter's family.
