> All of us at Champaign County Health Care Consumers will miss Walter. For
> many years, Walter was an active member of the CCHCC Health Care Access
> Task Force -- he was a very enthusiastic champion for the cause of health
> care for all in our local community.
>
> Walter loved a good protest, but was also energetic when participating in

> you could hear Walter from the back of the room, cheering "Hear, hear!"
> when a speaker said something that Walter really liked.
>
> Walter had such tremendous energy and presence, and such joie de vivre. He
> was a good man, with many talents and skills and a keen intelligence, and
> interest and curiosity.
>
> His enthusiastic support and participation in CCHCC's work was always
> uplifting.
>
> We will miss Walter very much, and we will continue to do the work that
> made him proud to be part of our organization.
>
> Our condolences go to his wife, and our dear friend, Cope Cumpston, and
> Walter's family. Walter had a brilliant life, and we know that he will be
> deeply missed.
>
> CCHCC is grateful for the family's request that memorial contributions be
> made to our organization.
>
> We hope you will be able to join us in celebrating Walter's life at the
> memorial service tomorrow.
>
