Floyd Collins is a musical based on the true story of a rural Kentucky caver in search of the “American dream” in the 1920s. While trying to find fortune for himself and his family, Floyd Collins becomes trapped in the depths of a cave. The musical follows the final days of Floyd’s life as well at the impact the incident has on his family and the town in which they live, as reporters and filmmakers flood the area in order to share Floyd’s story with the world. Floyd Collins features the work of actors both new and well-established at the Station, including Andy Hudson, Marah Sotelo, Jodi Prosser-Muller, David Barkley, Craig Smith, and Grant Morenz. The music in this production, under the directino of Justin M. Brauer, is greatly influenced by American folk music and bluegrass sounds of Kentucky.Floyd Collins will be performed from Thursday, February 19 through Saturday, March 7, 2015. All shows start at 8:00 p.m. Admission is $10 on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays and $15 on Fridays and Saturdays. To make a reservation, please call (217) 384-4000 or reserve online.
