In this autobiographical drama, a broken taillight leads to the brutal beat=
ing of a highly educated, middle-class black man by a policeman in suburban=
 Virginia. The Kennedys interweave the trial of the victimized son (accused=
 of assaulting the offending officer) with the mother's poignant letters in=
 his defense and her remembrances of growing up in the 1940s, when her pare=
nts were striving "to make Cleveland a better place for Negroes."

Sleep Deprivation Chamber is a gripping examination of the conflicting real=
ities of the black experience in twentieth-century America.

Sleep Deprivation Chamber will be performed Thursday, March 23 through Satu=
rday, April 8, 2017. All shows start at 8:00 p.m. Tickets are $10 on Wednes=
day, Thursday, and Sunday, and $15 on Friday and Saturday.
