AUDITIONS:
September 22nd from 2:30-6:30

LOCATION:
Auditions and callbacks will be held in the Armory Free Theatre. Enter the =
Armory through the East door (next to Harding Band Building) and it is the =
first room on the right. Parking is available in the Harding Band Building =
lot, the Huff Hall lot, and surrounding street parking.
AUDITION MATERIALS:
-Please prepare 16-32 bars of a song, musical theatre or otherwise, in the =
style of MAMMA MIA!/ABBA.
-Please prepare a 1 minute contemporary comedic monologue from a play or mu=
sical other than MAMMA MIA!
CALLBACKS:
September 23rd from 5:30-10.
There will be a callback dance call from 5:30-7 and 7:30-10 will be compris=
ed of vocal/acting callbacks.
THE SHOW:
On a small Greek island, Sophie dreams of a perfect wedding =97 one which i=
ncludes her father giving her away. The problem? Sophie doesn=92t know who =
he is! Her mother Donna, the former lead singer of the 1970s pop group Donn=
a and the Dynamos, refuses to talk about the past, so Sophie decides to tak=
e matters into her own hands. Sneaking a peek in her mother=92s old diaries=
, she discovers three possible fathers: Sam, Bill, and Harry. She secretly =
invites all three to the wedding, convinced that she=92ll know her father w=
hen she sees him. But when all three turn up, it may not be as clear as she=
thought! Told through the legendary music of ABBA, Mamma Mia! has become a=
worldwide sensation that has audiences everywhere dancing.
ROLES AVAILABLE:
DONNA SHERIDAN - Sophie=92s mother, owner of the hotel Villa Donna, and wif=
e of Sam at the end.
SOPHIE SHERIDAN - Donna=92s headstrong 20 year old daughter and Sky=92s fia=
ncee.
SAM CARMICHAEL - a New York architect who regrets leaving Donna.
HARRY BRIGHT - Today, a respected banker. Back in the day, known to Donna a=
s =93Head Banger.=94
BILL AUSTIN - A well known travel writer and adventurer, but is afraid of m=
aking a commitment.
SKY - Sophie=92s fiance. A former stockbroker who later moved to the island=
..
ROSIE MULLIGAN - One of Donna=92s friends who was part of her band. She is =
an author of cookbooks.
TANYA CHESHAM-LEIGH - Another of Donna=92s friends, she has married three t=
imes, but has never quite found the right man.
PEPPER - One of Donna=92s employees who catches the eye of Tanya.
EDDIE - With Pepper is the bar-staff, waiter, boatman, and general help aro=
und the island.
ALI - One of Sophie=92s oldest friends that was invited to the wedding.
LISA - Another of Sophie=92s friends coming for the wedding.
FATHER ALEXANDRIOS - The minister of the island who almost marries Sophie &=
Sky, and ends up marrying Donna & Sam (will also be ensemble).
ENSEMBLE: 9 roles available, mixed gender.
TIME COMMITMENT:
-Rehearsals will begin 10/7 and will generally be held Sunday-Thursday from=
7-10 pm. Please note that not everyone is called each day. We are willing =
to work with moderate conflicts, but those with major conflicts (including =
show conflicts) will not be considered for any roles.
-Strike for HIR will be on Saturday, 11/17. Pizza is provided!
-There will be no rehearsals Wednesday, 11/21 -Saturday, 11/24 due to Thank=
sgiving. (We will have rehearsal on Monday & Tuesday 11/19, 11/20.)
-Tech week will be Sunday, 11/25 through Wednesday, 11/28.
-Shows are 11/29-12/2, 12/5-12/9, 12/12-12/15. Shows are at 7:30 pm except =
for the matinee on 12/9 at 3 pm.
-Strike following performance on 12/15. More pizza!
