Hey new member here. After having just watched the entire series 
again with a friend, I think I'm finally joining the chorus of TP 
fans who felt a little let down by the 2nd season. Granted, I'd much 
rather have these episodes than not but in retrospect the more 
interesting storylines from the 2nd season seemed to share equal time 
with those amusing (but not very important) subplots i.e. Little 
Nicky/James the roving mechanic/Nadine the super cheerleader.

This imbalance is what I think leads many to conclude that the second 
season was'nt up to par with the first 7 episodes. This might be a 
bit of revisionism but I think you could whittle the second season 
down to about 11 episodes, eliminating a few subplots, and the flow 
and tension would be vastly improved. I agree that the season finale 
is just about the best damn thing to ever hit the screen and I doubt 
that ABC or Lynch/Frost would ever approve of such a drastic new edit 
but....
