Re: The Walrus and the Carpenter

Well, that's certainly an interpretation of that poem I've never heard
before.  Usually I hear it interpreted as the walrus and the carpenter
characters as being either religious or political figures and the
oysters the poor clueless souls that follow them.  That makes much
more sense to me, but then again, I have no knowledge of this branch
of astrology you're using here.  Carroll (Dodgson) was often noted as
a social critic but also his writing, though sometimes serious, was
often a study in sheer purposeful nonsense mixed with the dangers of
the world.  

I'm also pretty sure I heard that "I am the Walrus" was written with
this poem in mind, but I don't think the Beatles were any more into
this astrology stuff than Carroll was.  Again, I think they were
aiming for nonsense so people would stop trying to read into their
lyrics.  In their case the odd lyrics were fueled by LSD.
