Yesterday I watched the 'Truman Show'...

Same story !

There are clues in the script to have Truman understand that his
world isn't real - and there are clues to have the audience (us)
understand that what most of us consider reality isn't real either
(Christof, the director of the Truman Show even says in the show
itself when Truman finds out what is going on in his world and must
decide in what world he wants to live the rest of his life).

Note that there also is a Truman in Twin Peaks... and also note
the dogs (there is even a reference to Canis Major and Sirius) and
the twin brothers.
Truman is Herakles again. The topic of the movie is how a person
might escape Hell by being aware of the Hermetic codes that can
be observed everywhere.
