David Lynch releases new single 'Good Day Today'

David Lynch continues his adventures in the world of music
with a fresh dose of electro-pop by way of his first
original single 'Good Day Today,' joined on the flip side
by the cool, bluesy track 'I Know.'

Both songs from the acclaimed director of films like Twin
Peaks and Blue Velvet are now available on iTunes via U.K.
independent label Sunday Best Recordings. Check below to
hear 'Good Day Today'!

The dreamy-pop 'Good Day Today' features the 64-year-old
Lynch on vocals and on production duties. Lynch's other
musical output includes working on soundtracks to his own
films, plus the wicked collaboration with Danger Mouse and
the late Mark Linkous on Dark Night of the Soul.

Said Lynch: 'In all my films, I have always been very
involved with all that one hears. The creation of this
record was a natural extension of my love of sound and
music.'

Funny enough, 'Good Day Today' was mistakenly credited to
Underworld by Jason Bentley due to its warm synth sounds
when it first aired on his hugely influential Los Angeles-
based KCRW radio show 'Morning Becomes Eclectic.'

It was Bentley who passed along the record to Sunday Best
Recordings director Ben Turner at the International Music
Summit in Ibiza. Turner played the record to label head
Rob da Bank and the pair snapped up the release soon after,
signing the track for the world.

Sunday Best has commissioned a set of remixes of the single
for full release in January, which will feature artwork
created by Vaughan Oliver, the esteemed graphic designer
behind timeless album covers by Pixies, The Breeders and
Cocteau Twins. 'If I hadn't just pinched myself, I'd swear
I was dreaming that we're actually putting out a record by
David Lynch,' da Bank remarked.
