no no. normally you get them for i dunno, like between 9 and 19 bucks a kilo. but not the pie cherries. those cherries are more sour, more tart, more suitable for pies. what i meant by 60,000 buck cherries was this.
 
every year, the first crate (unsure of weight, but more than a kilo) of cherries (and other fruit, ie. the first cate of mangoes) of the season are auctioned off for charity. the people buying them are grocers etc, and last year, the first crate of cherries was bought for $60,000, the proceeds going to charity. it's not like you'd pay that everyday, it's just the charity auction
