Debian's alioth mail server going away, many lists with it

I'm not sure to what extent Gmane is carrying Alioth mailing lists, but I 
thought I should post a brief ping here.

Alioth is being retired, and many of its mailing lists will be shut down 
permanently.

The proposed timeline is for operations to cease in January 2018.
