I'm working on a web-based admin interface so that people who don't use Gnus (I know; it's shocking that such people exist) can do admin stuff like this. It's taking longer than I had planned to implement it, because I decided to learn Clojure(Script) (and Reagent) while implementing it. I'm not calling for volunteers yet, but I will. :-) In... perhaps... a week? There'll also be a user-oriented web interface for signing up new lists and editing info on old lists, but I haven't started that at all. Mainly because I'm wondering whether that should be tied to some kind of log-in system to ease communication with the person requesting the list. I mean, if somebody tries to sign up "[email protected]" and describes the list as "The is the user list for noobar", then the admin should reject that with "describe what 'noobar' is" etc. But then the submitter should be allowed to edit the submission, right? So perhaps I should have a "log in with er github" thing? Because I don't want to store any user data... On the other hand, the submission may just be tied to a SHA-256 UUID, and anybody with the correct link could be able to edit the submission. Which would be more than safe enough. Hey! I just designed it! Anyway! Expect that... after I stop rewriting the Clojurescript code all the time. (Yes, this'll be one of those modern single page apps where everything happens in JS on the client side and the HTML is just <body></body>. *evil laughter*) Anyway, I used the Python lists here as a test for the interface, and it seems to work! *gasp* The idea is that the admin will be able to see the exim log and the Gmane log in real time, which makes tweaking subscription efforts easier.
