We have had several serious RAID failures at work too, in setups
where hot HDD replacement was supposed to be sufficient to fix any
problem without even a short interruption. But it didn't work as
advertised...

A don't know about that company, but *some* venodrs make support
very difficult to get with the obvious purpose to avoid any work
that can be avoided.
