	When a list is exposed without protection, it gets so much cruft 
that the listowners remove it, or should, at once. On Gmane, it can go on 
remaining accessible via newsreader for years, with no trouble. Seems to 
me the munging is one essential feature which makes Gmane the treasure it 
is.
