If the email reaches Gmane, yes.

I think the next step is to check the the mail log of of the
lists.boost.org server to see if emails logged as delivered to
m.gmane-mx.org.

If they are, it would make sense to either post the log-snippet here or
mail it to Lars and ask why the mail doesn't show up in the newsgroup.

We won't learn much if the email arrives in your inbox and doesn't
appear on Gmane, which is what I would expect to happen.

What you are proposing is the equivalent of you subscribing to the
mailing list and waiting for the first message to arrive after that. And
that wouldn't waste every subscriber of the list's time by sending a
test message to all of them.
