Updating mailing list address timeout

When trying to re-register gmane.org.user-group.golug with a new mailing address of [email protected], it fails with a timeout error. It seems that Exim (the MTA) intentionally throttles smtp (port 25) connections but wants SMARTTLS connections on submission (587). Is it possible for gmane to accept another port? -- Barry Fishman
