Text Box Menu Item not working

Hello Abiword Developers,

I am a fedora user, I recently checked out abiword from your svn
trunk, and compiled without any plugins using standard ./configure
command. The Insert menu has a option of adding text-boxes, but it
isn't enabled. Am I missing something/Or is it a bug ?

I really need textboxes for my offices presentation kindly help.
