Re: table vs n-column

You should use Format::Columns if you want to have a continuous text
that appears in two columns (that is, the text at the bottom of column
1 page 1 continues at the top of column 2 page 1). A table is more
appropriate if the two columns are distinct. With a table, the text at
the bottom of column 1 page 1 continues at the top of column 1 page 2.

You can remove the table borders by opening the format table dialog
(menu Format::Table...).

As for Format::Columns, if you want to have single-column and
two-column sections in the same document, you need to insert section
breaks (Insert::Break...). Each section has its own number of columns.
