Abiword v3.0.0. - docx

Dear All!

I would need some help with Abiword v3.0.0. 
I downloaded the source from:
http://www.abisource.com/downloads/abiword/3.0.0/source/
I had it installed (just a basic installation with: `./configure; make; make
install'), but when I'm trying to open a document with docx format, I only get
random characters displayed instead of the document. I tried different docxs
with similar result. And I tried them with a different word processor, and
they worked fine, so I don't think the problem is with the files.

Do you have any idea why is this happening? 
Have I missed something, or is this under development?
