If you don't mind waiting a week or two, I am currently making
some binary packages for my own computers and friends'.

I just finished Debian Wheezy, and a pure Ubuntu 12.04 LTS should
be next. Bear in mind that they are absolutely non-official,
no-warranty (even less than usual) software packages.
