Hello, I've 3.0.1 on Mageia 5 and it opens pdf just fine, even if most of the time the layout is very simple. Probably you need to address the packager responsible for the suse rpm since it seems lacking this file: /usr/lib/abiword-3.0/plugins/pdf.so (this is the location on my installed rpm, there's no such file in downloaded suse rpm).
