I can agree with that approach,
but I think it is more wise to use code from Conglomerate.

See the current export functions, especial the PDF exporter,
it has some extra input field ( "pick list" and "open value" )

The open value field is the User Interface that is needed
to provide the parameters to the rng-doc.xsl
 ( 'title', 'default.documentation.string', 'intro' & 'target' )
