There are xds.in files, though not for all xds files, they are listed 
also in the potfiles.in, but the related strings don't show up in the 
po files, hence no translation.

There must be something different in the treatment of the list of 
document types (first tab in the preferences window) and the list of 
plugins (second tab in the preferences window).
