As you may know, we now have the a new widget implementation in CVS HEAD (merged in from the WidgetPlayground branch thanks to nsh). You can see the state of the problems with the editor widget here: http://bugzilla.gnome.org/showdependencytree.cgi?id=143769 I did some hacking on the editor widget over the weekend; the most broken thing was the word-wrapping and resizing. After my hacking efforts, this now works a lot better: text should flow properly to take account of the current width. Unfortunately I think at some point I broke span tags; they appear OK when you add a new one, but don't seem to work when you open an existing document that contains one (filed as bug #159773). I hope to have a go at fixing these various issues at some point soon, but we should put out a tarball as well. What might be most useful for me to do is to write up some notes on how the new widget works. That might make it easier for other people to hack on the code (filed as bug #160002). There's also some primitive steps towards having proper table editing. Any thoughts about priorities here (or volunteers to hack on things)? Anyway, be warned that I want to put out a tarball in the next week or so, so if you've got stuff you want to fix (or new translations you want to get in), please post to this list so that I know what the status is.
