Michèle we are not getting very far here. Let us break this down into the 
issues.

1. You cannot compile on Mac OS.

I cannot help with this. Perhaps somebody on the list has a Mac OS. Can they 
compile it? If not, what are the errors. Please send in error messages, we 
have no idea of what the problem can be on your system. It may not be related 
to the docs. In fact I think it is highly unlikely.

2. Help menus don't work on Mac OS.

I assume that the help on other GNOME apps does work?
And that if you were to do 'yelp conglomerate.xml' in a shell session, that 
yelp would open the manual. The same goes for the FAQ (if it is in article 
format). If this is so then, as you say, something is hard coded to look for 
the help files.

Usually, with Yelp this is scrollkeeper. In conglomerate-C.omf we have
<identifier url="file:$(docdir)/$(docname).xml"/>

This should work for Linux. I don't know about Mac. We will have to rely on 
your investigative powers with this one, in order to help us. Check if 
scrollkeeper is installed. If yes, ensure that conglomerate-C.omf is 
registered with scrollkeeper. If it is not, then we have found the problem. 
If not ..... install scrollkeeper and register the conglomerate-C.omf. Try 
the help after this.

Please send feedback on these two issues. I think if we use the process of 
elimination, we will get to bottom of it.
