Wordperfect XML-style "show tags"/"hide tags" WYSIWYG display?

Hello,

I've  been  using  the  Wordperfect  XML environment for some time and
think  that  it's  nearly  the  perfect  application for end-users for
working   on  document-centric  XML  (I  found  it  even  better  than
Framemaker's  XML  support).

The  feature  I  especially  like about it is its WYSIWYG editing view
(just like in an average wordprocessor) with the possibility to switch
on/off the visibility of the XML tags. Except that it:

- uses a proprietary style sheet format (not CSS or XSL-FO or whatever
other open standard),

- doesn't accept schemas (only DTDs),

- isn't available for anything else than Windows,

-  may  or  may  not  get  any  further  development, depending on the
survival of Corel and the mood of the day of their senior management.

Among all the open-source XML authoring applications I've seen so far,
Conglomerate   seems  to  be  the  one  which  comes  the  closest  to
Wordperfect.  Except  that it doesn't seem to offer the possibility to
view  (and  edit)  the document in a near-WYSIWYG-like fashion (taking
into  account  as  far  as  reasonably  feasible the actual stylesheet
you're  using  to format the document for print) with optional display
of  the  XML  tags  (I can mail screenshots of Wordperfect off-list if
anyone wants to see what it looks like).

Is  there  any  chance  that Conglomerate will go in this direction as
well or is this not all the intention of the developers?
