I never got around to try Geert's tarball, but I tried building 0.7.2
today, and it built without a hitch.  I'm not having any success in
opening any of my documents, though.  Conglomerate keeps crashing on
me.  I'll see if I can isolate a test case, and file a bug report.

I make extensive use of external entities.  Perhaps that's the
culprit?
