Re: CentOS 7 update leads to jEdit hanging on startup.

You might try Amazon Corretto instead of Oracle Java. It's more stable and
really the keeper of the code these days more so than Oracle... Oracle is
just trying to get licensing. From my completely blind position out here in
the middle of nowhere, I'd expect Amazon has 3-10 times the number of
people working on Corretto code than Oracle has working on Java code.
Pretty much any server side cloud instance would be running Corretto these
days, since it's part of AWS.

I haven't installed from a redhat instance, but it runs fine on Ubuntu,
Debian, and SuSE. I currently use Corretto 11 for Jedit 5.6 on (a minor
variant of) Ubuntu 20.04
