Downloaded V4.5.0 yesterday, opened the archive, dragged jedit.app to application and ran it. It changed to an already running Java app \(Freemind in this case\).

It seems to run fine when launched from the archive.

V4.4.2 worked fine.

MacBook Pro
Max OS X V10.7.3 Lion
Java 14.1.0
JEdit V4.5.0
