@ezust Good pickup on BufferTabs, your question prompted me to look at the many plugins I have installed (I can't see a way to generate a list), and about 6 were not on the latest version (including BufferTabs), after updating them, I no longer have this issue :-)

Periodically or at least after an update to JEDIT it might be nice to be reminded if some plugins need updating...

On Windows 11, since moving to JEDIIT 5.7,  I have not been able to swap tabs to alter their ordering.
