Re: Button order?

I must admit that I’m so far behind the times that I was unaware this was any kind of issue. If you’re concerned about this then perhaps detecting the OS and ordering the buttons would be nice, but it doesn’t matter to me.

Here's a question that may cause some debate -- yes/no/cancel or cancel/no/yes?

Apple and Google have gone with cancel/no/yes, and there is some justification for it.

Microsoft has stayed with yes/no/cancel, and again there is some justification for it.

Linux distros have done both.

The Java look and feel design guidelines say yes/no/cancel, and again, there is some justification for it.

Anyway, is there a strong preference for either? Is it worth the trouble to make this an option? Or detect the OS and order the buttons accordingly?

I'd be interested in hearing opinions.
