integrate autobrackets in jEdit

Hi,

I find that there is no auto bracket completion feature in jEdit. I
searched for it and understood that you have to install a new plugin called
Firstmate to include that feature in your installation. If jedit is called
a programmers editor, then why that feature is not included in jedit by
default. It should be available for the programmer instead of installing a
new plugin. Is there any reason that such simple feature is not included
for so long time.
