SSH negotiates protocol version, cipher, and authentication. That last one: password vs key, and finding matching key pair between the server and client, is account-specific. And by "account" I mean the username the client sends to the server: we don't know if "works from cmd line" is the same one the plugin's configured to send. -- Dimitri Maziuk Programmer/sysadmin BioMagResBank, UW-Madison -- http://www.bmrb.wisc.edu ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Check out the vibrant tech community on one of the world's most engaging tech sites, Slashdot.org! http://sdm.link/slashdot -- ----------------------------------------------- jEdit Users' List [email protected] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/jedit-users
