I've been using JEdit 5.4.0 for quite some time and realized that I should
update. I don't program in Java so I'm happy with Java 8. However, at
https://www.jedit.org/index.php?page=download y'all write, "Java Runtime
version 11 (aka Java 11) or later is required for jEdit 5.6 and later."
So you are saying that I should stay at 5.4? OR, given that I don't program
in Java, can I still run a newer version? Would I have trouble with
plugins? Thanks for your time and patience.
