Outline Pane Index Entry Enhancement Request, and Tracker Unlock Request

LyX Developers,

It seems my tracker account is corrupted in some way such that I cannot
login; can someone please update my password (account name: jkulesza)?
Sorry for the trouble.

The reason I ask: I wanted to post an enhancement request to only
abbreviate Outline Pane index entries if they are too long to be displayed
similar to other categories of entries.  Please see the attached
screenshots from LyX 2.5.0 on macOS 12.7.6.  Long section headings are
shown in full and only truncated with "..." when the pane is too narrow to
display them.  However, long index entries are always truncated (based on
raw character count?).

The request: can the outline pane index behavior be made consistent with
the section behavior?

It looks like in issue 9572 there is an assertion that index entries aren't
long, but I'm not sure what "long" is relative to and would advocate for
consistent behavior and avoiding an arbitrary(?) "length" expectation.
This is particularly relevant when using nested categorical index
organization such as Tally, Track-Length, Energy Deposition and Tally,
Track-Length, Fluence (such that it may be hard to distinguish which index
entry is which because the most specific aspect comes last).
