I think that putting WYSIWYM is correct. WYSIWYM stands for "what you see is what you mean." By default, LyX does not show WYSIWYG math. This can be configured with instant preview, but it is turned off by default. I'm sorry it took so long to get back to you. We would appreciate any future feedback you might have. Best, Scott
