Current version in Ubuntu 25.10 is LyX 2.4.4. The current LTS release Ubuntu 24.04 has LyX 2.4.0~RC3 indeed, but you can update to 2.4.3 using this instructions: https://wiki.lyx.org/LyX/LyXOnUbuntu Point 1.3 Debian binaries This should work on an Ubuntu derivative such as Mint, too.
