Layout question: flex inset that doesn't allow input?

I would like the LaTeX output to be either \myCommand or \myCommand{}.

And I would like the appearance to be something like a (permanently)
*closed* "Classic" flex inset. I don't want to ignore the user input, I
want to make it so that the user cannot even input anything.

For my use case, that type of "button" appearance would fit well (it
will be included in a different argument).
