If you look at the directory listing (https://lyx.mirror.garr.it/bin/2.5.1/), the Qt6 version seems to be LyX-2.5.1%2Bqt6-x86_64-arm64-cocoa.dmg, which contains a slightly funky "+" sign (%2B) and a rather confusing architecture (aren't x86_64 and arm64 rather different?).

Yes, they’re different. But, the name is correct. The package contains both architectures.

$ file /Volumes/LyX-2.5.1/LyX.app/Contents/MacOS/lyx
/Volumes/LyX-2.5.1/LyX.app/Contents/MacOS/lyx: Mach-O universal binary with 2 architectures: [x86_64:Mach-O 64-bit executable x86_64] [arm64]
/Volumes/LyX-2.5.1/LyX.app/Contents/MacOS/lyx (for architecture x86_64):	Mach-O 64-bit executable x86_64
/Volumes/LyX-2.5.1/LyX.app/Contents/MacOS/lyx (for architecture arm64):	Mach-O 64-bit executable arm64
